The Pixel Balloon is a friendly interactive contraption designed for an audience to play with and admire. It is intended that the people who use it have to put in physical effort to communicate just a single letter, which is in direct contrast to many of the other communication media that are available today. By manually inflating a dot matrix of party balloons, groups and individuals can display and communicate messages across the exhibition space. A cross between an interactive sculpture and a giant ticker-tape display, it appeals to a wide range of audience either through its concept, its purpose, its visual or structural aesthetic or simply the experience it offers to those who wish to try it. Collaboration with Oliver Collier and James Tobin.
